🛡️ How Reporting Works on DonateYou

Keeping DonateYou safe, kind, and trustworthy is a team effort.
If you see something suspicious, inappropriate, or harmful, you have the power to help.

Here’s how our reporting system works:

đź‘€ 1. Spot Something Wrong?

You might see something that concerns you, like:

  • A campaign that looks fake or misleading

  • Offensive comments or abusive behavior

  • Fundraising for illegal or prohibited activities

  • Suspicious updates or sudden major changes

If you feel something isn’t right, please report it — even if you’re not sure!

Learn what’s allowed in our Community Guidelines.

🛑 2. Report It Quickly

You can report in two easy ways:

🔵 Directly on the campaign or comment:
Click the “Report” button (usually near the title, update, or comment).

🔵 Or email our Safety Team:
Send a message to safety@donateyou.com with:

  • The campaign name or link

  • What you saw

  • Screenshots (if possible)

  • Your contact info (optional, for follow-up)

🔍 3. We Review Every Report

Our Safety & Security Team reviews every report carefully:

  • We use a combination of automated tools plus human review.

  • We prioritize urgent safety risks first (e.g., fraud, hate speech).

  • Reviews are confidential — the reported user won’t know who reported them.

Serious violations may be escalated for immediate action.

See more about our process in the Safety & Security Policy.

⚖️ 4. What Actions We Might Take

Depending on what we find, DonateYou may:

  • Remove violating content (campaigns, updates, comments)

  • Freeze or refund funds (if fraud is detected)

  • Suspend or permanently ban accounts

  • Report criminal behavior to the proper authorities

We act based on the evidence and seriousness of the situation.

đź“© 5. You May Get Updates (Sometimes)

  • If you reported something serious and left your email, we might send a brief update when the case is resolved.

  • Due to privacy laws, we cannot share details about actions taken against other users.

(But know that your report matters — every report strengthens the community!)

🤝 6. Reporting Is for Everyone

  • Donors, organizers, visitors — everyone can report issues.

  • You don’t need proof to report — if something feels wrong, let us investigate.

  • Even one report can prevent serious harm.

Thank you for helping protect DonateYou. đź’›
